PROFESSOR MICHELE CALLISAYA

Prof Michele Callisaya is a principal research fellow at the University of Tasmania and a senior research fellow at Monash University. She has worked as a physiotherapist for over 20 years, mainly in rehabilitation and aged care. 

Her research focuses on falls, frailty and dementia. She is passionate about improving access to allied health for people with progressive neurological conditions. She has been awarded over $30 million in research funding and has published over 180 research papers or book chapters. 

She is the chief investigator for the MRFF funded project “The right to rehabilitation for people living with dementia - tackling stigma and implementing evidence based care”
