VICKI BARRY

Care Partner, Young Onset Dementia Advocate, Network Orchestrator 

Vicki is an accomplished professional with extensive management experience across business, government, health and the social sectors. 

She is a care partner, supporting her husband who has been living with young onset dementia (YOD) for the past 14 years. A tireless advocate in the dementia space, she champions the needs and rights of people living with dementia as well as non-pharmacological approaches to dementia care. 

 In 2016, Vicki founded the Young Dementia Network WA providing peer and social support to those living with YOD. She is now employed by the Joint Solutions project to establish and develop the YODWA Network, a community of practice inclusive of all stakeholders. The intention: to collaborate and align collective knowledge and resources which will lead to improved systems and quality of care and support services.
